My Story...
My love for sewing craft work started at around age 10 when my mother sent me and a childhood friend to a neighbor’s house to learn to make knitted slippers. I fell in love with making things with my hands. Over the years, I’ve had a project in the works, many times two or three. I knitted baby garments when my 3 children were little but once my oldest moved out, I turned her bedroom into a sewing room. That’s when I really started spending more time on my crafting.
I started making a variety of re-usable gift bags, adding a pocket, then two, etc.  I learned how to do zippers and that led to my search for the perfect purse. No two purses I make are alike but they now all include a cell phone pocket, a pen pocket and a loop for securing your car keys. Â

There’s something very therapeutic about sitting on my back deck in warmer weather and knitting while watching the sun come up, listening to the birds and humming birds wake up. During colder weather I find nothing better than going to my sewing room with that first cup of coffee, surrounded by the fabric I’ve collected and dream of what to make or experiment with a new purse design or quilt. When I’m creating, I often try to imagine who will end up with the item, how the cute little one looks while wearing one of my dresses, who will love one of the unique details I though just needed to be included in the project.
I recently retired so when I’m not spending time with my family, I am focused on my crafts and am often found at my Handmade in Maine booth at local craft fairs in Maine. My sister Robin was always a big support of my lifelong hobby and even though she passed unexpectedly recently, she still inspires my work and many creations to this day. I also have to give my heart felt thanks to both of my brothers for encouraging and helping me to share my passion beyond my immediate friends and family, to you through the online community. I couldn’t do this without their help!
I hope you enjoy my items as much as I have enjoyed making them for you!
